Following in the tradition of last year's successful "Lost Cemeteries of Hudson County" tour, the HCGS is pleased to announce that our June 12, 2010 meeting will be a trip to Ellis Island! In addition to the regular attractions of the national park, our group will receive a special guided tour of the recently opened Ferry House.
The tour cost $20 of per person includes:
- The roundtrip ferry ticket to Ellis Island
- The special guided tour of the Ferry House on the island
- Access to the museum (explore on your own)
- Access to Liberty Island (but access to the Statue of Liberty monument is not included)
You can leave Ellis Island at any time and return home when you are ready. Lunch is on your own. The museum does have a cafeteria. Backpacks are not recommended for the added security issues they cause. There are no lockers on the island.
Parking is available at Liberty State Park for $7 per car and is not included in the $20 registration fee -- we highly recommend car pooling, if possible.
Please note that on the day of the event you must plan to be at the Advance Ticket Line at the terminal in Liberty State Park BY 9:15 am. We will all be going through the security checkpoint and boarding the ferry as a group.
