"Ask Granny" to Create Family History

February 19, 2012

Are your kids a little hazy about where your grandfather was born, or what your grandmother's maiden name was? Maybe it's time to "Ask Granny"(c)! Learn how to create a family history at an "Ask Granny" seminar led by Bob Murgittroyd, Kathie Pontus and Dee Berry, founding members of the Hudson County Genealogical & Historical Society.

The group is hosting a free seminar at the Hoboken Historical Museum on Sunday, Feb 19, at 4pm to teach people how to answer those questions and more, and record them on an ancestor chart, one of the materials all participants will receive. Everything needed to create a family tree will be provided -- no computers necessary. It's a simple and fun way to get down on paper information about one's family. Even those who have done a family history before are invited to join in, as there's always something new to learn.

This "Ask Granny" Seminar is a local educational outreach program funded entirely by donations and grants. Class size is limited, so please call the Museum at 201-656-2240 to make a reservation.

The Hudson County Genealogical & Historical Society is a 501(c)3 New Jersey non-profit corporation, formed in October 2007 to promote the study of genealogy and the history of Hudson County.
