Can the HCGS accept online payment for membership dues?

Yes! As of October 3, 2009 we accept major credit cards and PayPal when you complete your membership application. Payment by check is still available, but because of mail transit times and check clearances there may be a longer delay in activating your membership if paying by check.

For your convenience, credit card payments automatically renew at the end of your membership term, but you can always cancel renewal at any time.

Do you do lookups or research?

The Hudson County Genealogical Society is not a research organization and therefore does not take requests for genealogy research or database lookups. However, many of our members are experienced or even professional researchers themselves and the environment we try to promote is one of openness and collaboration, so if you're looking for help, try attending one of our events, browse our collection of public databases or better yet, consider joining us and tap into our collective member expertise!

Why are there non-genealogy ads on some pages?

In order to offer the best functionality for our visitors and members at a cost a non-profit organization can afford, some of the pages and features are supported by advertising. We don't receive money for the ads but accepting them allows the third parties that provide added functionality to continue to offer them for low or no cost. So if you see an ad mixed in with HCGS content and it seems relevant to you, please do click through. Supporting the developers of our tools helps us too!

Yes! We offer several formats for ads in our newsletter and discounts for running an ad in full year of Hudson Roots issues:
