The Hudson County Genealogical Society Display Launched at the Secaucus Public Library

AUGUST 29, 2008 – JERSEY CITY, NJ. — The Hudson County Genealogical Society has created a display of Hudson County history and genealogy which is being generously hosted by the Secaucus Public Library through September 2008.

HCGS President Bob Murgittroyd commented "Our display at the Secaucus Public Library was launched this week and has already received an number of compliments. Thanks go out to Kathie Pontus, our display committee chairperson, Dee Berry, Jackie Wisner, Danny Klein, and Ellen Healy. If you are in the neighborhood stop in the see the display."

The display in the library lobby contains photos, documents, maps, books and other items temporarily donated by Hudson County Genealogical Society members.

The Hudson County Genealogical Society, a 501 (c)(3) New Jersey Non Profit Corporation, was formed in October 2007 to promote the study of genealogy and the history of Hudson County. The goal of the society is to collect, preserve and index this information in cooperation with local libraries and internet resources, to encourage adherence to the highest standards of research and documentation, to offer educational programs such as lectures, seminars and workshops and to promote the observance of Family History month.
