Dempsey & Sons Funeral Home Record Books - Bayonne
Dempsey & Sons Funeral home operated for about 100 years, from late 1850s to about 1947 with offices in Bayonne and Staten Island. From over two dozen books obtained by the Friends of Abandoned Cemeteries, Staten Island, more than 20 years ago, the group is providing the Hudson County Genealogical & Historical Society with indexes from the Bayonne office.
The information includes, name, date of death, address lived, location of death, parents names, where they were born, and in some cases interesting information like the cause of death, cemetery, location of grave, who paid the bill, who owns the deed to the cemetery, number of carriages ordered for the funeral and even the actual bill are included.
